Dümmer Lake as a Festival Backdrop
With over 13 square kilometers, Dümmer Lake is the second-largest inland lake in Lower Saxony and an important nature reserve and recreational area in the south of the Diepholz district. Beaches, harbors, restaurants, and campsites are spread around Lembruch, Dümmer, and Hüde. The Dümmerbrand attracts thousands of visitors from the region annually, turning the lake into a festival arena for three days.
Drone Show and Fireworks
The main evening of the Dümmerbrand traditionally takes place on Saturday. Around 10 PM, the drone show begins over the lake — hundreds of coordinated drones form images and animations in the night sky. Immediately following, around 10:15 PM, the grand fireworks display commences, reflecting in the lake's water. The combination of both effects makes the Dümmerbrand a visually outstanding experience.
Daytime Program 2 PM to 7 PM
During the day, from 2 PM to 7 PM, a broad family program runs. Game stations provide entertainment for children, regional bands perform on stage, a tractor meeting gathers historic and modern vehicles, and a craft market showcases regional vendors. The mix of family activities, tradition, and the evening show defines the character of the festival.
