Kick-off to the Bürgerschützenfest

The Kinderschützenfest on Saturday traditionally kicks off the grand Rodenberg Bürgerschützenfest, which will shape the town in the following days. The focus is on children and young people – they take centre stage on the children's festival day. The Rodenberg Bürgerschützenverein lays the foundation for the next generation of active club life with this day.

Programme for Children

The day begins with the assembly of the young marksmen, followed by a parade through the town centre. Laser rifle competitions, skill games, and a programme centred around crowning the young royalty provide sporting challenges without real ammunition. Parents, grandparents, and siblings accompany the events from the sidelines of the competition stands and on the festival grounds.

Proclamation of the Children's King and Queen

The highlight of the day is the proclamation of the new children's king and queen, as well as their retinue. The young majesties are honoured with sashes and crowns and will represent their club until the next crowning. The festival grounds, with carousels, stalls, and food stands, transform into a small funfair, where the festival continues into the evening.
