Youth Development as an Association Focus

The Brome Marksmen's Association (Schützenverein Brome e.V.) places particular emphasis on youth and junior development. The Kinderschützenfest is an expression of this commitment: on a summer day, children playfully experience what it means to be part of the marksmen's tradition. From child-friendly shooting with air rifles or foam darts to the festive proclamation of the Children's King or Queen, including games, dancing, and music, the festival offers a complete Schützenfest experience in a family-friendly format.

Brome's Festival Culture

The Kinderschützenfest is part of Brome's rich festival culture, which also includes the main Schützenfest, the Jägerausmarsch, and the trophy shoot of the Alte Gilde. The association and village community come together when parents and grandparents organize the festival as volunteers, passing on the tradition across generations.

The venue, Brome, is a historic market town in the north of the Gifhorn district, bordering Saxony-Anhalt. Brome Castle, the half-timbered town center, and the mill characterize the townscape. Its location in the Bromer Ländchen region connects the Wendland with the Lüneburg Heath and offers attractive excursion destinations for families.

Unlike the larger Schützenfeste with evening dances and late-night catering, the Kinderschützenfest focuses on a family-friendly atmosphere. The event concludes in good time, has limited alcohol availability, and is specifically aimed at the youngest association members and children from the village community.
