Grand Summer Festival of the Hepstedt Youth Fire Brigade for all Children of the Tarmstedt Samtgemeinde
The Hepstedt Youth Fire Brigade has been organizing a children's festival for many years, which is popular far beyond the local borders. All children and their parents from the Tarmstedt Samtgemeinde, which includes Hepstedt as well as the member communities of Breddorf, Kirchtimke, Tarmstedt, Vorwerk, Wilstedt, and Westertimke, are explicitly invited. The festival is intended as a gesture of solidarity between the active young firefighters and the young families of the region.
During the festival, children have the opportunity to get to know the world of the fire brigade up close. The young firefighters of the Hepstedt brigade showcase their emergency vehicles, let the little ones try holding a hose themselves, and patiently answer all questions about fire safety and rescue operations. This playful introduction is an essential part of promoting young talent in the Lower Saxony fire service.
In addition to the fire brigade-specific attractions, a diverse program of active games, creative stations, small competitions, and surprises awaits the young visitors. Food and drinks, including cake, beverages, and hearty snacks, are well provided for. Parents traditionally use the afternoon to chat in a relaxed atmosphere and talk with the dedicated members of the Youth Fire Brigade.
Hepstedt is located in the northern part of the Rotenburg (Wümme) district, nestled in the typical geest landscape between Bremen and the North Sea coast. The best way to get there is via the L 168 or L 132. Parking is available around the fire station.
The 2026 Children's Festival continues the beautiful tradition that has been a firm fixture in the summer calendar of the Tarmstedt Samtgemeinde for years. The active members of the Hepstedt Youth Fire Brigade prepare the day with great dedication and ensure a varied program tailored specifically to the needs of children of kindergarten and primary school age.
The focus is on playful interaction with the world of the fire brigade: Young visitors can, under guidance, aim water jets at targets, explore a fire engine from the inside, and try on helmets. These experiences often leave a lasting impression and lay the foundation for future voluntary commitment to fire protection.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the organizer in spring/summer. The structure follows the proven key points of previous years:
