Local History You Can Touch

The Children's Festival on the Rambin Museum Grounds is a family festival of the West Rügen municipality of Rambin, organized by the local history association around the Local History Museum. The museum, lovingly maintained by members of the local history association, is open from May to October – the Children's Festival is one of the highlights of this season.

Old Craft Techniques in Action

The focus is on demonstrations of historical working methods: visitors experience grain threshing with old equipment, the hulling of spelt grain, and the operation of the sawmill. This vividly illustrates how work was once done on Rügen. During bakehouse discussions, regional experts engage with visitors – about bread baking, agriculture, and village life.

Market and Children's Program

The festival also has the character of a market day: stalls with regional produce invite browsing and tasting. For children, there are play and hands-on activities that make the day a joyful family experience. The Children's Festival thus combines customs, crafts, and conviviality.
