A colorful family festival around the Kulturscheune and the Protestant church in Rangsdorf
The Children's and Family Festival in Rangsdorf is one of those events that shines not by its size, but by its familiarity. Around the Kulturscheune at Seebadallee 53 and the Protestant church, parents, children, grandparents, and associations meet on a Saturday afternoon in June to play, craft, eat, and talk together for four hours. The organizer is the Kulturverein Rangsdorf e.V., supported by numerous local initiatives.
Every year, stations are set up on the meadow and in the courtyards for children aged two and up: a bouncy castle, a carousel, creative craft stalls, small competitions, a children's disco, and the popular face painting. In the church, children themselves offer guided tours for young and old guests – a lovely gesture that elevates the festival beyond pure play. Parents and grandparents will find seating, coffee, cake, and savory food stalls. A book flea market is also a regular part of the festival scene.
The local Kita L.i.n.O!, the Protestant church community, the local history society, the fire department, and many others are involved in the setup and program – a good example of how a family festival in a Brandenburg community is truly carried by the community. Participation is free, and no pre-registration is required.
Rangsdorf is located in the Teltow-Fläming district, only about 20 km south of Berlin. The community is primarily known for the Rangsdorfer See lake and the historic lido, which was already a popular excursion destination in the 1930s. Today, Rangsdorf has around 12,000 inhabitants and actively cultivates its cultural life — the Kulturscheune is a central anchor for this.
The festival starts at 2 PM and lasts until 6 PM. Around the Kulturscheune Seebadallee 53 and the Protestant church, a participatory area is created for children, parents, and grandparents – supported by numerous Rangsdorf associations and providers.
The festival is intentionally designed without pre-registration – just come along if you wish. Families will find a diverse, low-threshold offering and can spend the afternoon alternating between play and quiet zones.
