Traditional district Kerwe of Maudach with Kerwe parade, live music, and amusement rides on the second October weekend.
Maudach is one of Ludwigshafen's western districts and is geographically part of the transition zone between the city and the Vorderpfalz landscape. With its village-like center, active club life, and a tradition-conscious festival calendar, the district preserves its own identity. The annual Kerwe on the second October weekend is the central district festival.
The festival grounds are divided into two connected areas: the Julius-Hetterich-Halle as an event hall and the adjacent Bruchfestplatz as an outdoor area. The hall serves as a weather backup and as a venue for club evenings; the Bruchfestplatz hosts the amusement rides, food stalls, and a larger outdoor catering area.
The Kerwe parade through Maudach is a central program item and the highlight of the festival. Clubs, club banners, costume groups, and music bands march through the main streets of Maudach. The parade symbolically connects the district's identity with classic Kerwe customs.
Over the four festival days, live music in the festival tent, amusement rides on the Bruchfestplatz, and catering by local clubs alternate. Palatinate specialties – Saumagen, Spießbraten, Flammkuchen, Bratwurst – complement the classic showman's offerings of sweets and snacks.
The Maudach Kerwe is one of Ludwigshafen's later district Kerwen. It follows Ruchheim, Friesenheim, Edigheim, and Oggersheim and is held before the Rheingönheim Kerwe in mid-October – which annually concludes Ludwigshafen's Kerwe season.
The double festival grounds at the hall and Bruchfestplatz offer space for showmen, the festival tent, and club offerings. The Kerwe parade is the traditional highlight.
The complete 2026 program will be published by the Maudach district association in good time. The structure follows the proven cornerstones of previous years.
