Kerwe in Bellem

The Kerwe Bellheim follows classic Palatinate tradition and is one of the most characteristic Kerwen in the region. Four festival days, preceded by the Bockbierfest on Friday evening, form the established framework. In the Palatinate dialect, the Kerwe is called Kerwe in Bellem – the 'e' at the end is typically swallowed in Palatinate pronunciation, and the village is called Bellem.

The Bellheimer Herr

A special feature of the Bellheimer Kerwe is the Bellheimer Herr, a symbolic figure who is presented anew each year during the Saturday parade. This tradition is an expression of the local festival culture and a highlight for the people of Bellheim and their guests. The parade winds through the town center, showcasing clubs, floats, and the central figures of the festival.

Bockbierfest and Marquee Program

Already on Friday evening before the actual Kerwe, the Bockbierfest takes place, an opening night with special beer service that marks the beginning of the festival season. On the four Kerwe days, live bands play oldies, rock, pop, and folk music, complemented by party music and DJ sets. The marquee can accommodate several hundred guests.

Club Beer Gardens and Bellheimer Brewery

The Bellheim clubs manage the catering with classic Palatinate specialties. Bellheim is home to the Bellheimer Brewery, whose beer is available at the bar. Palatinate wine from surrounding vintners, draft beer, and Schorle (wine mixed with sparkling water) accompany Saumagen (stuffed pig's stomach), Bratwurst (fried sausage), Flammkuchen (tarte flambée), Sauerkraut, and desserts.
