Erfenbach and the Karnevalclub Rot-Weiß

Erfenbach is one of Kaiserslautern's western districts, incorporated but with its own independent club life. The Karnevalclub Rot-Weiß Kaiserslautern is among the active carnival clubs with a special connection to the district. Its 2026 Prunksitzung in the Kreuzsteinhalle is part of the broad Lauter carnival scene, which, in addition to the central Carnival Club 1838, includes numerous district clubs with their own event traditions.

Kreuzsteinhalle as the Venue

The Kreuzsteinhalle is the central event hall of the Erfenbach district and has been the home of numerous club events for decades, from concerts and balls to weddings and family celebrations. For the KC Rot-Weiß's Prunksitzung, the hall is transformed into a festive carnival hall: with a stage, table seating, lighting, and carnival decorations. The compact size of the hall creates a particularly dense and intimate carnival atmosphere.

Classic Session Program

The program follows the typical structure of a Prunksitzung. Dance troupes (Gardens) from the KC Rot-Weiß and friendly Lauter clubs open the evening and run through the entire program. Satirical speakers (Büttredner) provide carnival commentary on local politics and supra-regional topics. Musical show acts with soloists and small groups complement the Gardens. A carnival band provides transitions and opportunities for communal swaying (Schunkeln). City Princess Jenny I. is expected as a guest with her retinue.

Regular Audience and District Connection

The session thrives on its regular audience from Erfenbach and the surrounding districts. Many tables have been reserved by the same families and groups of friends for years; the audience often comes in carnival costumes or festive attire. The connection between the club and the district is close: the KC Rot-Weiß is not only a carnival club but also an essential part of the club and social life in Erfenbach.
