Anniversary edition for the 25th Blues Festival with King King, Robben Ford, Ana Popović and many more
Since its founding in 2001, the Kammgarn International Blues Festival has been a fixture on the European blues calendar. The 25th edition, from October 15th to 17th, 2026, coincides with Kaiserslautern's 750th city anniversary and will be particularly festive. Over three days, the Kammgarn brings together top international acts from the contemporary blues scene, from British modern blues and American roots artists to European specialists.
The first festival day is dedicated to one of the festival's traditions: the free-entry Blues Night. San 2 & His Soul Patrol will bring their blend of blues, soul, and rhythm and blues to the stage; singer San 2 (Sandro Santoro) is one of Germany's most distinguished blues voices. Following them, French singer and pianist Charles Pasi will take the stage, his vocal style shifting between blues, jazz, and pop. The free-entry Blues Night is a deliberate gesture by the Kammgarn to make the festival accessible to audiences who do not pay.
On October 16th, three very different acts will take over the stages. King King from Scotland is one of the most awarded British blues bands of recent years, delivering modern blues with singer Alan Nimmo in a full band setup. Robben Ford is a legend among guitarists in the American blues and jazz scene; his live sets combine technical virtuosity with deep blues roots. The Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band from Indiana brings an earthy, energetic roots programme with country blues and slide guitar.
The closing day on October 17th brings together three current stars of the genre: Cardinal Black from Wales, Ana Popović from Serbia-USA, and Philip Sayce from Wales-Canada. Cardinal Black blends blues, rock, and soul into a contemporary sound. Ana Popović is one of the most internationally successful female blues artists today, a slide guitarist of great calibre. Philip Sayce, a multi-award-winning guitarist with Canadian-Welsh roots, delivers explosive blues-rock.
