18th Edition – Cars, Commercial Vehicles, Motorcycles, and Vespa Meeting in the City Centre
Kaiserslautern Classics is one of the firmly established classic car meet-ups in the West Palatinate. The 18th edition on June 20, 2026, will gather hundreds of classic vehicles of all classes around Stiftsplatz and in the adjacent pedestrian zones. Cars ranging from pre-war classics to 1990s youngtimers will be displayed alongside commercial vehicles, historic tractors, motorcycles, and scooters. Owners from the Palatinate, Saarland, Alsace, and all of Southern Germany use the event to showcase their lovingly restored vehicles.
The highlight of the day is the 4th ADAC Trifels Oldtimer Rally, an approximately 240-kilometre circuit through the West Palatinate, including routes around the Reichsburg Trifels, which gives the rally its name. The rally is not a speed competition but a regularity trial, focusing on punctuality, precision, and the stylish mastery of historic technology. Registration is via the website rallye-trifels.de.
Concurrently, the 4th Kaiserslautern Vespa Meeting will take place, attracting enthusiasts of the Italian classic from large parts of Germany. Vespa models from several decades – from the 1950s GS 150 to the modern GTS – will be presented; the atmosphere is friendly and strongly community-driven. Accompanying Vespa rides through the city and into the Palatinate countryside are part of the programme.
Kaiserslautern's city centre is freely accessible to visitors. Those who want to see the vehicles in action, not just admire them, can watch at the rally checkpoints, at the start, or at the finish line. Food stalls and city centre restaurants provide refreshments. Families will find the mix of a city festival and a classic car spectacle a reason to spend a summer afternoon in the city centre together.
