Beach Sports Centre on the Baltic Sea

The Kaiserbäder Sportstrand in Ahlbeck is one of the best-equipped beach sports areas on the German Baltic Sea coast. Every summer, sand courts, volleyball nets, slacklines, and a yoga area are set up on the beach section at beach access points 1Y and 1Z of Dünenstraße – managed by the Kaiserbäder Sportstrand team on Usedom Island.

Daily Sports Programme

Throughout the summer, the Sportstrand offers a diverse programme for all ages and skill levels:

• Beach Volleyball: several courts, free play, and supervised courses
• Yoga and Meditation on the beach (€10/hour)
• Stand-up Paddleboarding (€5/hour)
• Beach Fitness: Abs-Legs-Butt, Back Fitness
• Beach Soccer, Basketball, Handball
• Slacklining and Disc Golf
• Boccia and other family beach sports

Glowing Volleyball Tournaments

The most famous special events at the Sportstrand are the Glowing Volleyball Tournaments under blacklight: players in neon makeup and neon outfits compete against each other with glowing balls, and the beach is bathed in neon colours by blacklight. Spectacular for both players and spectators. In 2026, the tournaments will take place on July 18th and August 15th – registration via the Sportstrand team.

Watersports Day and Tennis Tour

Further highlights in 2026:

• Kaiserbäder Beach Tennis Tour (July 3rd–12th): ITF world ranking tournaments and amateur cups
• Watersports Day (August 1st): Taster day for stand-up paddleboarding, watersports equipment, and beach sports

Location and Season

The Sportstrand is located in the Baltic seaside resort of Ahlbeck, which, along with Heringsdorf and Bansin, belongs to the municipality of Ostseebad Heringsdorf in the district of Vorpommern-Greifswald. Season: from the second half of June to the first week of September. Opening hours Monday to Friday 9 am–5 pm, weekends 10 am–4 pm.
