Anniversary Year in Schülern

The Schützenverein in the Schülern district is celebrating a significant club anniversary in 2026. Preparations for the festivities began in the club board in 2025, with a festival committee organizing the program, logistics, and marketing. The weekend of June 13/14, 2026, has been set as the central date.

Festival Weekend June 13/14, 2026

The festival weekend follows the proven structure of a Heidedorf Schützenfest: King's shooting competition on the preceding day, parade on Saturday, proclamation of the king and king's ball on Saturday evening, and a family program and morning pint on Sunday. Live music in the festival tent, food stalls, and children's carousels will complement the program.

Böhmequellpokal June 3-6, 2026

In the run-up to the anniversary weekend, the Böhmequellpokal will take place from June 3 to 6, 2026. This regional shooting competition brings together the Schützenvereine from the Schneverdingen area, who compete against each other in various disciplines. Winners will be honored within the framework of Schneverdingen's marksmen's traditions. The Böhme is the river that gives the region its name and originates in Schneverdingen.

Parade

The highlight of the anniversary festival is the parade on Saturday afternoon through the Schülern district. Schützen companies in uniform, friendly clubs from the Schneverdingen districts and surrounding areas, brass bands, drum corps, and floats will march from the Schützenplatz through the village.

Schneverdingen as a Marksmen's Town

Schneverdingen is one of the traditional heath towns and is home to several Schützenvereine in various districts – including Schülern, Insel, Zahrensen, and the town club. The Schützenwesen (marksmen's traditions) shapes the social life of the town throughout the year.
