St. Viktor Schützenbruderschaft Rottinghausen

The St. Viktor Schützenbruderschaft Rottinghausen e.V. is the marksmen's association of the Rottinghausen-Ossenbeck area – a traditional association embedded in the predominantly Catholic Oldenburg Münsterland region. The patron saint St. Viktor is an early Christian martyr whose veneration has a long history in the region. The designation as a Schützenbruderschaft (marksmen's brotherhood) emphasizes the spiritual and fraternal tradition of marksmanship.

Eight Companies

A remarkable structure: The Schützenbruderschaft consists of eight companies. This division indicates a strong membership base and a differentiated club structure. Each company has its own traditions, costumes, and activities. During the Schützenfest, they appear together, showcasing the diversity of the brotherhood.

Jubiläumsschützenfest 2026

The 2026 festival is designated as a Jubiläumsschützenfest (anniversary marksmen's festival) – a round anniversary of the brotherhood or a specific event makes this year's edition particularly festive. The exact reason for the anniversary will be announced by the club. Such anniversary festivals are particularly cherished in marksmen's circles – with additional program items, honors, and an even more festive atmosphere.

Three Festival Days in July

The festival runs from Saturday, July 4th to Monday, July 6th, 2026. Three days with the classic program of a North German Schützenfest – assembly, shooting competitions, parade, king's shooting, proclamation, dance evenings, king's dinner, and festival service.

King's Shooting and Proclamation

The highlight is the king's shooting, which the eight companies conduct together. Whoever takes the decisive shot reigns as the marksmen's king for one year. At an anniversary festival, the king holds a special position – he embodies not only the club year but also the round anniversary.

Parade with Eight Companies

A parade with all eight companies through Ossenbeck is an impressive sight. Drum corps, club banners, costumes in various colors, king's carriages – a colorful spectacle that showcases the marksmen's culture in its full diversity.

Ossenbeck as a District of Damme

Ossenbeck is a district of the town of Damme – rural in character, with established structures and a close-knit village community. The Schützenfest, supported by the St. Viktor Schützenbruderschaft Rottinghausen, is a highlight of club life and an identity-forming event for the district.
