Jubiläumsbühne Kaiserslautern – 750 Years (May)

17 Days of Stage Program

From May 8 to 24, 2026, for 17 consecutive days, the Jubiläumsbühne will feature a daily changing program. This continuous programming for over two weeks is an unusual format and makes the Stiftskirche a permanent meeting point in the anniversary May. Something different happens every day – concerts, club evenings, children's festivals, dance, readings, thematic weeks focusing on Kaiserslautern clubs, schools, or businesses.

Stiftskirche as a Festival Site

The Stiftskirche is one of Kaiserslautern's oldest and most important buildings – a Romanesque-Gothic church whose origins date back to the 13th century. The square in front of the Stiftskirche offers an extraordinary festival backdrop with historical substance and is a central meeting point in the city center during the summer. In the anniversary May, this function is significantly enhanced by the Jubiläumsbühne.

Program Structure

The program follows a weekly structure: Thematic weeks focus on specific aspects of city life (e.g., a club week, a sports week, a children's week). Within these weeks, the program changes daily – live music in the evening, hands-on activities in the afternoon, concerts on Sunday mornings, dance evenings on weekends. The SWR party and the children's festival are explicit program items that have been highlighted in the reporting.

Free Admission and City Festival Character

Admission is free – part of the policy of the City of Kaiserslautern and the 750kl team that the anniversary program should be open to all citizens. The Jubiläumsbühne is thus the most democratic format of the anniversary year: an open festival site where the city's population, clubs, artists, and guests can meet freely. In this function, it is the heart of the 750 Years program.
