Spring Festival in the Rheiderland

Weener is located on the Ems river and is the administrative seat of the town of the same name in the Leer district. The Johannimarkt traditionally opens the town's event season and brings families, children, associations, showmen, and visitors from the neighboring Dutch towns to the town center on the May 1st weekend. The characteristic feature is the mix of a classic fair, flea market, vintage car show, and family program.

The official opening takes place on May 1st, and the market continues for four days. The flea market fills several streets with private sellers.
