A New Jazz Festival for Ostfalen

With Jazzsommer Wolfenbüttel, a new festival series begins in the Wolfenbüttel district in August 2026. Unlike traditional festivals held at a single location, Jazzsommer deliberately spreads across the entire region: 13 concerts will take place in 13 extraordinary venues over ten days. The festival thus combines cultural exploration of the district with a sophisticated jazz program.

13 Venues Between Palace and Barn

The venues include Rittergut Lucklum with its historic estate, rural cultural barns, sculpture gardens, museums, and – as a special highlight – a historic Freemason's lodge in the region. This selection makes each concert a unique experience: acoustics, atmosphere, and curatorial concept are closely coordinated.

A Sophisticated Program

The lineup for the first edition shows the curatorial direction: ambitious, regionally rooted, and stylistically diverse. Confirmed acts include:

• Bigband Fette Hupe – one of Northern Germany's most renowned big bands
• Gabriela Koch Quartet with Lutz Krajenski – jazzy vocals in a quartet, complemented by the renowned pianist and organist
• Tirso Kasimir Effekt – modern jazz with a distinctive signature
• Landesjugendjazzorchester Wind Machine – support project for young jazz talents

Concert „Jazz-Hoch-Drei” in Wendessen

On August 15, 2026, a special concert titled “Jazz-Hoch-Drei” will take place in the St. Georg Church in Wendessen – an example of how the festival brings together sacred architecture and jazz. On August 12, a jazz trio will also perform at the Till Eulenspiegel Museum in Schöppenstedt.
