Rittergut Lucklum as a Venue
Rittergut Lucklum near Erkerode (part of the municipality of Cremlingen) is a former commandery of the Teutonic Order and one of the most impressive rural cultural sites in the Wolfenbüttel district. With its castle, farm buildings, garden, and courtyard, the Rittergut offers an atmospherically dense backdrop for concerts, conferences, and cultural events. As part of the Jazzsommer Wolfenbüttel, the Rittergut becomes one of 13 extraordinary venues.
Meeting Madame Pele
The concert presents the project "Meeting Madame Pele" by composer, arranger, and singer Britta Rex. "Madame Pele" refers to Pele, the Hawaiian goddess of fire and volcanoes – an inspiration that leads to music in the project oscillating between modern jazz and Worldmusic influences. Britta Rex combines vocal clarity, compositional depth, and an open ear for different musical traditions.
WegArt e.V. as Organizer
The organizer is the cultural initiative WegArt e.V. in cooperation with Rittergut Lucklum. In recent years, WegArt has established itself as a supporting association for sophisticated cultural events in rural areas and sees the concert as a contribution to a cultural landscape that is not limited to urban centers.
Part of the Jazzsommer Wolfenbüttel
The concert is part of the inaugural Jazzsommer Wolfenbüttel (August 7–16, 2026), which unites 13 concerts at 13 venues throughout the district. Tickets cost a uniform 14 Euros – a price intended to open the premiere edition to a broad audience. Attending the concert combines sophisticated jazz music with the experience of an extraordinary historical location.
