Obermoschel is located in the Alsenztal valley in the northern Donnersbergkreis, bordering the Nahe wine region, and is considered the northernmost outpost of Palatinate wine culture.

Obermoschel Wine Park

The Obermoschel Wine Park is a park and event area on the outskirts of town dedicated to bringing vintners and wine lovers together. With a view of the historic Landsburg castle and the surrounding vineyards, it provides the ideal setting for open-air wine events. Seating, shaded pavilions, and a small stage are available.

Focus on the Current Vintage

At the Jahrgangsverkostung, vintners from Obermoschel and the surrounding area present the youngest wine vintage. From 10 a.m.: Opening of the tasting in the Obermoschel Wine Park. Welcome by the town of Obermoschel.
Morning: Presentation of the white and rosé wines of the current vintage by the participating vintners. Comparative tasting of Riesling, Müller-Thurgau, Silvaner, white and Pinot Gris.
Lunch: Small culinary accompanying offer, depending on the weather, in the pavilion or outdoors.
Afternoon: Tasting of red wines from the youngest vintage and selected mature vintages.
Accompanying: Discussions with the vintners, opportunity for direct purchase of the presented wines.

Getting There

Obermoschel is located in the Alsenztal valley in the northern Donnersbergkreis, on the L379 between Alsenz and Meisenheim. Accessible via the A63 (exit Winnweiler) or the A61 (exit Bad Kreuznach). Alsenz train station on the Kaiserslautern – Bad Kreuznach line with bus connections.
