About Jabelmanns Kultursommer

Jabelmanns Kultursommer Garten is the open-air concert series of the Jabelmannhalle Uelzen and will take place in 2026 from Thursday, July 9th, to Friday, July 17th, 2026, in the garden of the Jabelmannhalle. Four concerts over almost ten days present a diverse program: Klaus Hoffmann on July 9th — the renowned German singer-songwriter and actor with decades of stage experience — opens the series. On July 11th, Clint Ivie follows with his characteristic songwriter program. On July 12th, Axel Zwingenberger presents a Boogie-Woogie session, bringing one of the most vibrant piano traditions to the open-air stage. On July 17th, the North German rock legend Sitting Bull concludes the series. The Kultursommer is the important alternative to the traditional Open R Festival in 2026, which is taking a break this year. Thus, Jabelmanns Kultursommer fills an important gap in the Uelzen summer calendar and brings high-quality live music to the Lüneburg Heath region.

Jabelmannhalle Uelzen — Cultural Hub

The Jabelmannhalle is Uelzen's most important concert and event venue, hosting concerts, theater performances, readings, and comedy acts throughout the year. With its garden as an open-air extension, the hall can offer an additional performance format in the summer — as Jabelmanns Kultursommer impressively demonstrates.

Open-Air Concert Series in the Garden

The garden of the Jabelmannhalle transforms into an open-air stage in July. Seating, stage, and catering are temporarily set up. The open-air atmosphere, with the transition from day to dusk, creates a special concert backdrop that clearly differs from indoor events.

Klaus Hoffmann — July 9, 2026

Klaus Hoffmann is one of the most distinguished voices in the German singer-songwriter genre. With his poetic, often autobiographically tinged lyrics and a distinctive stage presence, he has built a loyal audience since the 1970s. Hoffmann is also an established actor in film and television. His concert on July 9th opens the series.

Clint Ivie — July 11, 2026

Clint Ivie represents the younger generation of German-speaking singer-songwriters. His program combines introspective lyrics with a modern songwriter sound.

Axel Zwingenberger Boogie-Woogie Session — July 12, 2026

Axel Zwingenberger is one of the great Boogie-Woogie pianists worldwide. With his virtuosic playing, he has shaped the genre for decades. A Boogie-Woogie session is an extraordinary open-air experience — the rhythmic energy of Boogie-Woogie and the summer evening atmosphere combine to create a characteristic concert format.

Sitting Bull — July 17, 2026

Sitting Bull is a major figure in the North German rock music scene. The band concludes the series with a rocking open-air concert.

Alternative to the Paused Open R Festival

In 2026, the traditional Open R Festival in Uelzen is taking a break. Jabelmanns Kultursommer thus takes on an important role as Uelzen's summer concert series and ensures the continuity of live music in an open-air format in the Hanseatic city.

Jabelmanns Kultursommer — edition 2026

Jabelmanns Kultursommer Garten Uelzen 2026 presents four open-air concerts from July 9th to 17th in the garden of the Jabelmannhalle. Klaus Hoffmann on July 9th, Clint Ivie on July 11th, Axel Zwingenberger Boogie-Woogie Session on July 12th, and Sitting Bull on July 17th form a diverse lineup featuring a singer-songwriter, a songwriter, Boogie-Woogie piano, and rock. The series is the important alternative to the paused Open R Festival in 2026. Tickets available via adticket.de and jabelmannhalle.de.
