Open-Air Concert at the Isselburg City Tower
On Saturday, June 6, 2026, starting at 6:00 PM, the Issel Unplugged initiative invites you to the second open-air concert at the Isselburg City Tower. Following the successful debut in 2025, the young event format is expanding its position as a summer concert highlight in the Lower Rhine border community.
2026 Program — Three Acts
Three artists will be on stage at the city tower in 2026:
- Get Lost
- Fabian Haupt
- Anne Mosters
As expected from an "Unplugged" format, the musical spectrum ranges from acoustic singer-songwriter to indie — voice, guitar, piano instead of a large band. A conscious focus on musical substance that suits the character of the city tower venue.
Issel Unplugged — The Young Initiative
The Issel Unplugged initiative is a relatively young cultural platform in Isselburg, which had its public debut with the first open-air concert at the city tower in 2025. It works closely with the Kulturring Isselburg, which provides the ticket shop and infrastructure. The events are also promoted on Instagram (@issel.unplugged) and Facebook — a modern communication strategy for a modern format in a small community.
Kulturring Isselburg 2026: Concerts and Comedy
The concert is part of the broader Kulturring Isselburg 2026 program, which also includes comedy events, readings, and concert series. Cellist Doortje Maillard from the duo "Logout" will also perform in Isselburg as part of the annual program — the town is striving for a packed cultural year, even though the traditional Stadtfest (city festival) has been canceled for 2026 (see local reports February 2026).
Isselburg City Tower — The Historic Setting
The City Tower is one of Isselburg's landmarks — a remnant of the medieval city fortifications and today a central venue for the town's open-air programs. In the summer of 2026, it offers the ideal stage for an intimate concert with three acts.
Isselburg — Lower Rhine Border Community
With just under 11,000 inhabitants, Isselburg is located in the Borken district, directly on the Dutch border and on the Issel river. The small community has a historically grown town center with a city tower, parish church, and some industry. The proximity to the Netherlands shapes the character of the region — linguistically, culturally, and culinarily.
