Two-day beer festival around the Marienkirche in Isernhagen K.B. with craft beer, live music, and street food
When beer kegs are tapped around the Marienkirche in the Kircher Bauerschaft, when the smell of street food is in the air, and when live music fills the church hill from the stage, it's the Isernhagen Hopfenfest. The two-day beer festival has become a firm fixture in the festival calendar of the northern Hannover region since its premiere β a tribute to brewing tradition and the contemporary craft beer scene.
Unlike a classic Volksfest (public festival), the Hopfenfest focuses on craft-brewed beers. Local and regional breweries, often small manufactories, present their varieties β from hop-forward IPAs and classic Pilsners and wheat beers to experimental styles like Sour Ale or Stout. Tasting glasses and small portions allow visitors to sample the diversity. The exhibitors are available for questions β the Hopfenfest is therefore not only a place of enjoyment but also an educational venue for beer drinkers.
The beer offerings are complemented by street food: burgers, BBQ, vegetarian and vegan options, international specialties. A cocktail bar supplements the beverage selection for those who don't want to drink exclusively beer. Live music on a stage β usually acoustic bands, singer-songwriters, or small cover bands β provides the musical accompaniment. The historic setting around the Marienkirche, one of the oldest churches in the region, lends the festival a special atmosphere that oscillates between historical dignity and relaxed festival mood.
The organizer, Isernhagener Hopfenfest e.V., is a non-profit association that runs the festival on a voluntary basis. This structure shapes the character of the event: not a high-priced event format, but a committed and lovingly designed tribute to beer culture, supported by people dedicated to the art of brewing and celebrating together. Proceeds go to the association's work and future festival editions.
On June 26th and 27th, 2026, Isernhagener Hopfenfest e.V. will once again transform the area around the Marienkirche into a festival mile for beer connoisseurs and gourmets. Craft beer is the focus, complemented by street food, cocktails, and live music.
The exact 2026 program will be published by the organizer in early summer. The structure follows the proven cornerstones of previous years:
