Germany's largest Hardstyle outdoor festival – 5th anniversary edition
If you're part of the European Hardstyle scene, Into the Madness has been a must-attend event since 2022. In just a few years, the festival has become Germany's largest outdoor event for Hardstyle and related genres – with a clear unique selling proposition: while other major Hardstyle events (Defqon.1, Decibel) take place in the Netherlands, "Into the Madness" fills this gap on German soil. The 5th edition on September 5, 2026 marks the anniversary and a milestone in the festival's growth.
The venue is Seepark Zülpich, a spacious recreational area on the lake in the town of Zülpich (Euskirchen district, southern Rhineland, North Rhine-Westphalia). The park offers the necessary space for a festival with five stages, logistics zones, camping areas, and tens of thousands of guests. The town of Zülpich belongs to the Cologne metropolitan region (45 min by car), but its rural location between the Eifel and the Börde landscape allows the acoustic requirements of a Hardstyle festival to be met without causing conflicts with residents.
The five stages are divided by subgenres:
A total of around 75 artists – national and international Hardstyle headliners. Exact line-ups will be released gradually in spring 2026.
One of the hallmarks is community identification: organizers and fans speak of the "Nomad Family" spirit. Unification is achieved through recurring marketing codes (mascot, hashtags, aftermovies), consistent visual language, and a genuine festival subculture. The Hardstyle scene is generally characterized by strong community identity – tracksuits, bandanas, specific dance forms – and "Into the Madness" actively cultivates these codes.
Tickets start at €79.90 in early bird pre-sale, with higher tiers as sales progress. VIP packages with backstage access, a dedicated area, and drink packages are also available. Camping is sold via separate tickets – the camping area is the social hub for international visitors (significantly from the Netherlands, Belgium, France, even Scandinavia). Shuttle buses run from Cologne and Bonn.
Zülpich itself has Roman roots (Latin "Tolbiacum"); the Roman Thermal Baths Museum and the medieval city wall are worth seeing. However, those arriving for "Into the Madness" are usually not there for sightseeing – the festival is clearly defined as a pure music event. Nevertheless, the economic impact on the region is considerable: hotels, guesthouses, restaurants, and gas stations in the wider area benefit massively on festival weekend.
The 5th edition builds on the success of previous years and expands its capacities:
