About IMUKO

The International Music Festival Koblenz (IMUKO) is one of the most ambitious classical festival series on the Middle Rhine. Throughout the entire year 2026, IMUKO presents twelve classical music concerts with the renowned Koblenz cellist Benedict Kloeckner as artistic director and a variety of young international virtuosos. The concerts take place at various venues in and around Koblenz, including the Rhein-Mosel-Halle, Blumenhof Koblenz, Schloss Engers, Spay, and Namedy. Several concerts are free of charge (e.g., Blumenhof on July 10 and Kulturstufen on July 15).

The International Music Festival Koblenz (IMUKO) is one of the most important classical festival series on the Middle Rhine. The artistic director is the internationally acclaimed Koblenz cellist Benedict Kloeckner, who is sustainably shaping the city's classical music scene with his initiative.

Concept

IMUKO is a year-round festival with twelve to fifteen concerts between March and December. The focus is on young international virtuosos who perform together with Benedict Kloeckner and established ensembles such as the German Chamber Orchestra Berlin. The program ranges from classical and romantic (Haydn, Beethoven, Brahms, Schumann) to modern and contemporary works.

Concerts 2026 in Koblenz

Several important concerts will take place in Koblenz in 2026:

  • June 5, 6:30 PM, Rhein-Mosel-Halle: Program with Haydn, performed by the German Chamber Orchestra Berlin and Benedict Kloeckner.
  • July 10, Blumenhof Koblenz: Free admission concert.
  • July 15, Kulturstufen am Rhein: Free admission concert as part of the Kulturstufen event.
  • September 13, 6 PM, Rhein-Mosel-Halle: Late summer concert.

Other Venues

Throughout the season, IMUKO concerts also take place at venues outside Koblenz, including Spay, Namedy, and Schloss Engers. The festival is thus firmly anchored in the Middle Rhine region.

Several concerts in Koblenz are free of charge (Blumenhof on July 10, Kulturstufen on July 15).
