A festival for children in the heart of Würzburg's Old Town
The International Children's Festival is one of the most traditional family events in the city of Würzburg in the Bavarian administrative district of Lower Franconia. The Unterer and Oberer Markt fill with stands, activities, music, and children's laughter on this day, becoming a major meeting point for families from the entire region.
The focus is on more than 60 hands-on activities, creative workshops, and action stations. Children can jump on trampolines, get their faces painted, craft pinwheels, stack boxes, or tackle a go-kart course. A varied performance program on two stages provides entertainment.
The festival is organized by DAHW German Foundation for World Leprosy Relief, together with the Youth and Family Department of the City of Würzburg and the Mainfranken studio of Bayerischer Rundfunk. The proceeds support a DAHW project that helps children and families affected by leprosy in Togo. Thus, the festival combines carefree family fun with social commitment.
The international character is reflected in the program and the participation of numerous clubs and initiatives. The festival stands for encounters, diversity, and solidarity in the heart of Würzburg.
