From late November to January, the Usedom Inselglitzern transforms the seaside resorts of Usedom Island into a sparkling winter wonderland. Over ten locations – including Zinnowitz, Trassenheide, and Karlshagen – shine daily in atmospheric lighting. Gleaming wave patterns, illuminated dune grasses, shimmering sails, and large light letters illuminate promenades, spa gardens, and piers. During the 2026/2027 winter season, the seaside resorts of Usedom Island will once again shine as part of the Inselglitzern. From late November to early January, light installations transform the promenades, spa gardens, and piers into a sparkling winter world daily from around 4 PM to 10 PM.

The Usedom Inselglitzern will illuminate over ten locations on Usedom Island from November 28, 2026, to January 9, 2027. Trassenheide, Zinnowitz, Karlshagen, and other municipalities transform daily from around 4 PM to 10 PM into an enchanting winter world of light.

Shimmering sails, luminous wave patterns, and large light letters showcase the island's maritime identity. Admission is free – an evening stroll along the illuminated promenades is a must-do for the island's winter program.

Getting There

All participating seaside resorts are accessible via the Usedomer Bäderbahn (UBB) railway. By car, take the B111 federal road.

The Inselglitzern is free to access. The lights are on daily from approximately 4 PM to 10 PM.

An Island Aglow

The Usedom Inselglitzern is a collaborative winter lighting project by the seaside resorts in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district. From late November to early January, the island's promenades, spa gardens, and piers are transformed into an enchanting winter world. Daily from around 4 PM to 10 PM, the locations shine brightly – an experience for walkers, families, and holidaymakers during the cold season.

Light Installations with a Maritime Character

The light installations reflect the island's maritime identity: shimmering sails, softly glowing wave patterns, illuminated dune grasses, and radiant sun gates bring the Baltic Sea flair to winter. Large light letters stand in the spa gardens and on the promenades, spelling out "I LOVE USEDOM" – each resort contributes one letter.

Zinnowitz in Winter Light

The Baltic Sea resort of Zinnowitz also participates in the Inselglitzern. The beach promenade transforms into a sparkling winter wonderland, accompanied by a sea of lights, music, and the sound of the waves. The event makes the resort an atmospheric destination even in the off-season.
