A loving indie festival in the green — small, fine, and run by volunteers for over 25 years
The Immergut Festival in Neustrelitz, in the Mecklenburg Lake District (state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern), is one of the most distinguished indie festivals in Germany. Since 2000, it has been organized voluntarily by the non-profit association Immergut e.V. — without corporate sponsorship, with a clear commitment to fair prices, sustainability, and respectful interaction. The name says it all: it's meant to be Immergut (always good) here.
The festival is deliberately limited to around 5,000 visitors. This manageability is not a drawback, but the core of the idea: short distances, no crowding, a stage where you are really close. The grounds by the Bürgersee with forest, meadow, and water provide the backdrop for a weekend where concerts, camping, and swimming merge.
Programmatically, Immergut stands for current indie rock, folk, electro, pop, and experimental genres. The booking focuses on a mix of established names and newcomers, often with an international component from Great Britain, Belgium, Canada, or Switzerland. Those who perform here are not there by chance — the selection is curated and has shaped the taste of an entire scene for years.
In addition to music, readings, workshops, discussions, a well-thought-out gastronomic offer, and a relaxed campsite are part of the Immergut experience. The festival sees itself as a meeting place where social issues also have a place.
For the baroque residential city of Neustrelitz, Immergut is a cultural flagship. The festival is supported, among others, by the Stadtwerke Neustrelitz. For three days, the quiet town on Lake Zierker becomes a meeting point for music fans from all over Germany.
The Immergut Festival 2026 will take place from May 28 to 30 under the motto »So ein Kuddelmuddel«. As usual, the festival remains limited to around 5,000 visitors, thus retaining its familiar character.
The lineup combines German and international acts from indie rock, pop, folk, and electro. Confirmed artists include Mine, Die Höchste Eisenbahn, Jehnny Beth, Sprints, EBBB, Blvth, Sorry (GB), La Sécurité (Canada), quickly, quickly, Chloe Slater, Brockhoff, Kapa Tult, Dressed Like Boys (Belgium), Ellis·D, Fuffifufzich, Nina Hepburn, Peki Momés, Sveamaus, and Valentino Vivace (Switzerland).
The concerts are traditionally accompanied by readings, workshops, and relaxed camping right by the lake.
Immergut features a central festival stage; a detailed day-by-day schedule will be released shortly before the festival. Confirmed acts include:
