Tip
The Räuber performance around 4:30 PM typically draws the largest crowds — those who want a spot near the main stage should arrive 30 minutes beforehand. The Fun Mile is less crowded with families in the late afternoon than at midday.
Twelve Hours of Town and Family Festival
"I love Elsdorf" is the largest town festival of the small Rhein-Erft district town of Elsdorf, located between Cologne and Düren. On Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 12 PM to 12 AM, the town of Elsdorf will open a twelve-hour festival program around the Festhalle — admission is free throughout.
Westenergie Main Stage
The musical heart of the festival is the Westenergie Main Stage, which hosts a continuous program from noon until well after midnight. The key act of the day: the Cologne dialect band "Räuber", who are expected to perform around 4:30 PM — and will provide Rhineland atmosphere with hits like "Wenn et Trömmelche jeht".
Dance Schools and DJ Area
Additionally, two locally based dance schools will perform: Happy Flow and Dance 2 Impress — with dance performances in Hip-Hop, Standard, and Modern styles. There will also be a dedicated DJ Area for the younger generation, where the party will continue into the late hours of the night.
The Fun Mile
For families, the Fun Mile with its 30 activity stands is the main attraction. Bouncy castles, craft stations, face painting, skill games — everything parents need to keep their children entertained while the adults enjoy the stage program.
Elsdorf — A Town with a Mining Past
Elsdorf is a town in the Rhein-Erft district with around 21,500 inhabitants, shaped by former lignite mining in the Rhineland region and the subsequent structural change. The "I love Elsdorf" town festival is part of conscious municipal identity management — the town presents itself as modern, family-friendly, and vibrant.
State of North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhein-Erft District
The Rhein-Erft district is located west of Cologne and is part of the core area of Rhineland event tradition — Carnival is big here, and town festivals are numerous. "I love Elsdorf" fits into this regional festival ecosystem, aiming to be a broad-based, intergenerational summer celebration.
Free Admission — The Decisive Factor
The fact that the entire day's program is free of charge (both the stage and the activity stands) distinguishes the Elsdorf town festival from many commercial events. The town finances the festival through sponsorship (Westenergie as the main partner) and municipal funds.
