One of Germany's largest music festivals at the Eichenring Scheeßel with around 75,000 visitors daily
When the Eichenring in Scheeßel becomes a festival city on the third weekend in June, it's Hurricane. FKP Scorpio has been organizing the festival since 1997, and it has developed into one of the largest and most internationally important festivals in Germany. With around 75,000 visitors per day, a four-day format (Warm-Up Party + three main festival days), several stages, and a lineup that gathers the top international rock, pop, and indie scene, Hurricane is among Europe's premier festivals.
The Eichenring Scheeßel is a racecourse in the district of Rotenburg (Wümme) in Lower Saxony, which is transformed into a gigantic festival site for the festival weekend. Stages, bars, food courts, sanitary facilities, camping areas, and infrastructure for tens of thousands of visitors are set up in the weeks leading up to the festival. Its location away from larger cities gives Hurricane a special festival character — those who come, come with tents and camping equipment, stay for three or four days, and experience the festival in its full depth.
A special feature is its conception as a twin festival with Southside in Neuhausen ob Eck (Baden-Württemberg). Both festivals take place simultaneously and share the lineup — the acts switch between northern and southern Germany within the festival weekend. This logistics makes it possible to attract top international acts like Twenty One Pilots or Florence + The Machine for a German festival weekend without only one of the two festivals getting the performance. With this double format, FKP Scorpio has become the most important German festival organizer in the rock/pop segment.
The 2026 lineup impressively shows the festival's reach. On Friday, Kraftklub, The Offspring, YUNGBLUD, Pennywise, and Grandson are the highlights on stage. Saturday brings headliners with international appeal: Twenty One Pilots, Florence + The Machine, Papa Roach, Finch, and Nothing But Thieves. Sunday concludes with Billy Talent, Halsey, A Day To Remember, Empire Of The Sun, and Provinz. Over 80 acts are confirmed in total — a dense program that brings together rock, pop, indie, punk, metal, electronic, and hip-hop.
From June 19 to 21, 2026, the Eichenring Scheeßel will once again transform into Northern Germany's largest festival grounds. With over 80 acts and three main festival days plus a Thursday Warm-Up, Hurricane is once again a must-attend event for the international rock, pop, and indie scene.
