HVNB Beach Handball Tournament in the Sparkassen-BeachArena Duhnen — July 31 to August 2, 2026
The hummel Beach Cup Cuxhaven is one of the established beach handball tournaments on the North German sports calendar. The organizer is the Handball Association of Lower Saxony-Bremen (HVNB) in cooperation with TSV Beach Cuxhaven (tsv-beach.de).
The 2026 tournament will take place from Friday, July 31 to Sunday, August 2, 2026 in the Sparkassen-BeachArena Cuxhaven-Duhnen. The arena is the only permanent beach stadium on the German North Sea coast, with several courts, grandstands, and the necessary infrastructure for a three-day tournament.
The hummel Beach Cup is open to all age groups — from youth and junior teams to adult teams. This positions the tournament as a broad beach handball event that serves both ambitious players and youth development.
Registration is through the official channels of the HVNB (hvnb-online.de/beach/turniere-cuxhaven/) and TSV Beach (tsv-beach.de). The registration deadline is February 28, 2026 — teams should register early as places are limited.
Beach handball is played on sand, with two teams of four players each and special rules (e.g., double points for spectacular throws). The game time is divided into two halves of ten minutes each. The Cuxhaven arena offers ideal conditions — right on the beach, with North Sea wind and all modern beach standards.
The Cuxhaven district of Duhnen, with its beach, mudflats, and the Sparkassen-BeachArena, is a premier sports travel destination on the North German coast. Beach handball, beach volleyball, and beach sports tournaments alternate here throughout the summer.
The detailed 2026 match schedule will be published by the HVNB after the registration deadline. The structure follows the proven key points of previous years:
Sparkassen-BeachArena, Cuxhaven-Duhnen, 27476 Cuxhaven. Via the A 27 to Cuxhaven, then follow signs for Duhnen.
Register via hvnb-online.de/beach/turniere-cuxhaven/ or tsv-beach.de. Registration deadline: February 28, 2026.
Register early — places are limited. Afterwards, combine with a day at Duhnen beach and a mudflat walk.
