Hoffest of the Men's Choir Waldeslust at the Sängerheim Bruchweiler – Pentecost weekend with barbecue, steaks, and cake buffet with choral singing
The Hoffest of the MGV Waldeslust Bruchweiler-Bärenbach is a charming small event on the Pentecost weekend, organized by the Männergesangverein Waldeslust (Men's Choir Waldeslust). The choir's Sängerheim in Bruchweiler provides an intimate setting – not a festival ground with a stage and marquee, but a cozy courtyard with rows of tables, a grill, a cake buffet, and live performances by the choir.
Men's choral singing has a long tradition in the Palatinate; many villages and towns have their own male choirs, often dating back to the 19th century. They cultivate German song repertoire, from folk tunes to romantic songs, and shape the musical life of their communities. The MGV Waldeslust Bruchweiler is one of them, keeping the tradition alive.
The Hoffest begins at 11 AM and runs all day. Steaks, sausages, and other meat specialties are prepared on the grill; Palatinate wine and beer are served at the tables. In the afternoon, the traditional cake buffet complements the offerings, combined with performances by the choir. This mix of catering and choir concert is the hallmark concept of the Hoffest and gives it its special appeal.
Bruchweiler-Bärenbach, with just under 1,070 inhabitants, is located in the southern Palatinate Forest, in the Dahner Felsenland. The double village originated from the originally separate villages of Bruchweiler and Bärenbach. The location is scenically impressive, on the edge of the characteristic red Bunter Sandstein formations, and hosts an active club culture. In June 2026, the Bruchweiler fire department will celebrate its 150th anniversary – also a central pillar of village life.
The 2026 edition continues the concept of previous years. The exact program for 2026 will be published by the MGV in the spring. The structure follows the proven key points of previous years.
