About Hochheim Village Festival

The Hochheim Village Festival is one of the central district festivals in Hochheim, a district on the right bank of the Rhine in Worms. Over the weekend of July 5th and 6th, 2026, the village center will transform into a scene of a village flea market, festival concert, rickshaw rides, a mountain church service, Rhenish-Hessian brunch with brass music, and community gathering. Saturday will feature a village flea market from 10 am, rickshaw rides from 3 pm, and the official opening with a greeting from the Lord Mayor and a welcome concert from 7 pm. Sunday opens with a festive service at 10:15 am in front of the Old School, followed by a Rhenish-Hessian brunch starting at 11:30 am.

Worms-Hochheim — Independent District on the Rhine

Worms-Hochheim is located on the right bank of the Rhine and historically grew independently before becoming a district of Worms. To this day, the place maintains its own identity — visible in its own festivals, its own mountain church, an active local administration, and a distinct club structure. The village festival is the highlight of the annual calendar and brings the entire district family together.

Saturday — Village Flea Market and Opening

The festival day begins with the village flea market starting at 10 am. Hochheim families and clubs will offer bric-a-brac, books, clothing, and household items throughout the village. From 3 pm, the popular rickshaw rides will start, transporting older residents and guests through the village center. At 7 pm, the district mayor, together with the Lord Mayor of Worms, will officially open the festival — followed by a welcome concert.

Sunday — Festive Service and Brunch

Sunday is dedicated to the spiritual and culinary aspects. At 10:15 am, a festive service will take place in front of the Old School or in the Mountain Church — a proven tradition of Hochheim's festival culture. From 11:30 am, the Rhenish-Hessian brunch invites for a convivial get-together, accompanied by brass music. The rickshaws will also be available on Sunday from 12 pm.

Community Gathering and Identity

The Hochheim Village Festival is more than a tourist attraction — it is lived district identity. Clubs, the parish, schools, and committed citizens pull together; families from Hochheim and neighboring towns come together, and new residents are integrated into the community. An ideal example of the vibrancy of Worms' district culture.

Hochheim Village Festival — edition 2026

On the weekend of July 5th and 6th, 2026, Worms-Hochheim will celebrate its traditional village festival. Saturday starts at 10 am with the village flea market throughout the area, from 3 pm popular rickshaw rides will complement the program, and at 7 pm the district mayor and the Lord Mayor will officially open the festival with a welcome concert. Sunday opens with a festive service at 10:15 am in front of the Old School or in the Mountain Church, followed by the Rhenish-Hessian brunch with brass music from 11:30 am. A lively district festival that impressively documents the independence of the Worms district of Hochheim on the right bank of the Rhine.

The Hochheim Village Festival 2026 continues the tradition of the two-day district celebration. Families from the district, the neighboring towns of Ibersheim and Pfeddersheim, as well as from Worms city center will come together.

Mountain Church and Old School

The festive service will be held in the Hochheim Mountain Church or in front of the historic Old School — both are important landmarks of the district's identity.
