Hochwald Volksfest with Tradition
Hermeskeil is located in the Hochwald, the southwestern part of the Hunsrück region. For decades, the Stadtwoche has been the flagship event of the summer calendar. With ten days of festivities, it is the longest Volksfest in the region, bringing together clubs, caterers, market vendors, and musicians for a concentrated summer event.
New Festival Grounds
Since 2025, the Stadtwoche has been using new festival grounds at Schulstraße/Labachweg. The relocation created more space for the festival tent, amusement rides, and market stalls, and simplified logistics. The opening ceremony continues to take place on Rathausplatz — as a commitment to the town's identity and with the participation of the town twinning partner St.-Fargeau (France), which sends a delegation every year.
Ten Days of Program
The program includes live music on the festival tent stage (cover bands, folk music, regional musicians), markets (flea market, arts and crafts), an oldtimer meet, and sports tournaments. Classic fairground attractions such as carousels, shooting galleries, and food stalls complete the offering. Families will find a continuous program, and wine lovers can discover local Hochwald specialties — mulled wine, Hochwald beer, and regional delicacies.
