Spa Architecture Meets Summer Festival
The Heringsdorfer GlanzZeiten add a special accent to the festival calendar of Usedom Island: instead of a classic Volksfest (public festival), they combine Heringsdorf's sophisticated imperial era heritage with a lively summer festival character. The venue is the Heringsdorf Beach Promenade with its white villas and the modern Concert Shell right on the beach.
Program Between Tradition and Show
For four days, Heringsdorf transforms into a festival mile with a diverse offering:
- Market Mile with gastronomy and arts and crafts
- Traditional Crafts: demonstrations of old professions
- Garden Café for a relaxing break
- Amusement Rides for families
- Walk-acts in period costumes from the imperial era
- Stage Program on the concert shell with music and shows
Concert Shell as the Main Stage
The modern concert shell directly on the beach offers one of the most unusual open-air stages in Germany: shell-shaped architecture with perfect acoustics, and the open sea behind it. During the GlanzZeiten, dance bands, Schlager artists, and regional music groups perform here. Dance events directly in front of the stage draw young and old onto the dance floor.
Imperial Era Ambiance
What makes the GlanzZeiten special is its connection to Heringsdorf's history as a Kaiserbad (Imperial Spa): walk-acts in historical costumes recall the sophisticated summer vacationers of the 19th century. Heringsdorf was one of the most important Baltic Sea resorts of the German Empire at the time – a heritage that the spa architecture along the promenade still showcases today. The municipality of Ostseebad Heringsdorf is located in the district of Vorpommern-Greifswald.
