Büddenstedt Town Hall as a Concert Venue

The Büddenstedt Town Hall in the former mining town of Büddenstedt (Helmstedt district) is an unusual but functional venue for an indoor metal concert. It can accommodate several hundred spectators, the acoustics suit the format, and its location in the town center makes it easy to reach.

Mammut Lineup with 7 Bands

The Warm-Up presents an unusually extensive lineup of 7 bands. Kambrium from nearby Wolfsburg is an established death metal band with a distinctive sound. Wolfs Moon, If Worlds Collide, and Agency of Steel complement the program with various metal subgenres. The Lehrerband is a local teacher band, SheepShot a local hobby group, and The Schüler Band likely the youngest formation of the evening — this mix of established bands and local hobby groups is the true hallmark of the Warm-Up.

Inclusive Concept

Unlike most metal festivals, the Warm-Up deliberately focuses on an inclusive lineup. Professionals and hobbyists share the stage, established bands and school bands stand side-by-side. This constellation reflects a community philosophy where fostering the next generation is just as important as showcasing established acts.

Kick-off for HelmFest 2026

The Warm-Up is the official kick-off for HelmFest 2026 (July 30–August 1, 2026), which, with 26 bands over three days, is one of the major metal festivals in southern Lower Saxony. The March date creates four months of anticipation and community building between the Warm-Up and the main festival.

Community Effect

The Warm-Up functions not only as a concert evening but as a community gathering. Bands, fans, organizers, and helpers meet, plan the main festival, exchange ideas, and strengthen the regional metal scene. This creates a festival culture that extends far beyond the actual performance days.
