With its 56th edition in 2026, it looks back on an exceptionally long artistic heritage, featuring performances by international stars of the classical music scene.

Bad Harzburg is a state-recognized brine spa town on the northern edge of the Harz mountains. With its spa gardens, historic hotel buildings, and well-maintained atmosphere, the town offers a dignified setting for an international music festival. Various venues — the Kursaal, churches, hotels — will be used during the festival days, offering different acoustic and atmospheric conditions.

The brilliant start to the 56th Harzburger Musiktage is the opening concert on Friday, June 5, 2026, with the Philharmonia Frankfurt under its principal conductor and the world-renowned soprano Simone Kermes as soloist. Simone Kermes is among the internationally most renowned interpreters of Baroque and Classical vocal music and is a regular guest at major concert halls and festivals. The Philharmonia Frankfurt is a professional orchestra that has gained international recognition through CD recordings and concert performances.
