Wine under old tree crowns
The Hanau Wine Festival in the Palace Garden is one of the most beautiful wine festivals in Hesse – if only because of the setting. The venue is the Philippsruhe Palace Garden, the spacious park ensemble around the Baroque palace on the Main river, directly in the Kesselstadt district. Casual seating groups are set up under ancient trees, where guests gather at high tables and benches. In 2026, the event will take place from August 6th to 9th.
Franconian vintners of the Frank&Frei association
The focus is on the Frank&Frei vintner association from Franconia. The association presents its top wines – Silvaner, Riesling, Müller-Thurgau, Bacchus, as well as Pinot Noir and Domina from red wine regions. Franconia is known as a wine region for its dry, mineral white wines, making it a perfect fit for the summer open-air concept.
Part of the Hanau Kultoursommer
The wine festival is an integral part of the Hanau Kultoursommer and seamlessly follows the large open-air series, which ends on August 1st with the Hanau Summer Night. This means the wine festival also indicates that the Hanau summer is not yet over – on the contrary, August and September belong to the Main metropolis here in full strength.
Music program – Jazz to Schlager
Each of the four festival days features musical performances. The program ranges from Jazz and Swing to 60s and 70s Rock classics, Pop, Choral singing, to Party bands with Schlager and Disco repertoire. The bands are predominantly from the Rhine-Main region.
Free admission
The Hanau Wine Festival is completely free of charge – a format that has become rare in this quality. You only pay for what you drink and eat.
