Garden lifestyle in a baroque spa park

The Gartenfest Hanau is one of Hesse's most established garden lifestyle events. The organizer is Evergreen GmbH & Co. KG, which organizes several garden festivals in Germany. The Hanau edition benefits from its setting: the Staatspark Hanau-Wilhelmsbad, an 18th-century baroque spa park with an artificial castle ruin, Devil's Bridge, Comoedienhaus, and the world's oldest carousel.

180 exhibitors in four days

From June 4th to 7th, 2026, 180 selected exhibitors will present their range under the old park trees:

• Herbs and medicinal plants
• Exclusive outdoor furniture
• Art objects and garden sculptures
• Handmade jewelry
• Fashion (primarily outdoor, nature, lifestyle)
• Stylish garden accessories and decoration
• Culinary specialties

Accompanying program

The stage program includes walking acts, concerts, and comedy performances. A children's play area is available, and the historic carousel runs freely. Admission to the Puppen- und Spielzeugmuseum (Doll and Toy Museum) is free during the festival days, with additional model car races and craft activities. Guided tours of the castle ruins are also offered on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Combination of Garden + Heritage

The concept is unusual: instead of a pure exhibition hall, the world of gardens is combined with the cultural-historical heritage of the spa park. Visitors stroll between the exhibitor stands under old linden and beech trees, past bridges, temples, and the Comoedienhaus, where theater is performed during the Hanau Kultoursommer in the summer.
