Autumn market with crafts and regional products in Hameln's Old Town from October 2nd to 4th, 2026
The Hamelner Herbstmarkt emphasizes craftsmanship. Exhibitors demonstrate their work live for visitors: potters shape jugs, leatherworkers craft belts, basket weavers make baskets, blacksmiths show hammering at the anvil. These live demonstrations make the market a vibrant educational and shopping experience.
In addition to the craft stalls, you'll find vendors of regional products from the Weserbergland: honey, jams, cheese, wine, sausages, and preserves from the region. This makes the market a showcase of regional production and an attraction for lovers of local specialties.
The market spans three days: Friday, October 2nd, Saturday, October 3rd, and Sunday, October 4th, 2026. This extended duration allows for relaxed visits, even if you don't have the whole day available.
On Sunday, October 4th, 2026, Hameln's city center shops will also be open from 1 PM to 6 PM. This allows you to combine a visit to the autumn market with a shopping trip in the city center.
The autumn market marks the transition from the summer program to the pre-Christmas program. With harvest themes, pumpkins, and autumnal decorations, it shapes the city's atmosphere at the beginning of the cooler half of the year.
