Haller Frühling — The Salt-Boiling Town Blooms
The Haller Frühling is the annual spring opening in Schwäbisch Hall (Schwäbisch Hall district, state of Baden-Württemberg). On the last weekend of April, the city transforms its historic center into a spring promenade with a market, live music, culinary delights, and Sunday shopping, all under the motto “Blossoms, Beats & Strolls.”
Spring Festival on the Unterwöhrd
On the Unterwöhrd, the idyllic Kocher island in the heart of the old town, the spring festival attracts with market stalls from regional providers, Kocher specialties, spring herbs, and culinary delights. The stalls offer Hohenlohe wine, asparagus and spring dishes, homemade baked goods, and sweet temptations. Benches and lawns along the Kocher invite you to relax, while live music underscores the spring atmosphere.
Activities on Grasmarkt and Dietrich-Bonhoeffer-Platz
On the Grasmarkt and Dietrich-Bonhoeffer-Platz, a variety of activities for children and adults take place: Craft and participation stands, spring decorations, planting tips, and family programs. The shops in the city center entice with spring offers, tastings, and promotions. The Ost, West, and Kerz shopping centers participate with discount campaigns, tastings, and live music.
Sunday Shopping
The highlight of the weekend is the Sunday shopping on April 26, 2026, when the shops, boutiques, and galleries of the Haller old town open their doors. The historic alleys around the market square and St. Michael's Church transform into a promenade of shop windows, cafés, and restaurants — ideal for discovering spring fashion, Hohenlohe jewelry, and artisanal souvenirs.
Schwäbisch Hall — Salt Boilers and Half-Timbered Town
Schwäbisch Hall (around 41,000 inhabitants) is one of the most beautiful historic towns in Southern Germany. The town on the Kocher owes its wealth to medieval salt boiling, and its impressive cityscape — the market square with St. Michael's Church, the town hall, Großcomburg, and the Würth Gallery — makes every visit a journey of discovery. The Haller Frühling brings a spring-like lightness to this established setting — a weekend that combines the desire for spring, regional cuisine, and Hohenlohe culture.
