Two Days of Community Spirit, Live Music, and Family Fun in the Heart of East Frisia
The Hage Local Festival is a staple of the summer calendar in the municipality of Hage, uniting tradition, conviviality, and vibrant club culture. Over two festival days, local clubs – the fire department, sports clubs, shooting club, rural women's association, and youth groups – jointly create a program that connects generations. Children can look forward to carousels, bouncy castles, and games, while adults can enjoy live music, a dance evening, and a cozy festival tent.
Saturday usually starts with a parade or an official opening by the mayor. Afterwards, local bands and cover bands play late into the night. Sunday is dedicated to families: a morning pint with brass music, hands-on activities for children, show and dance performances by local groups, and an extensive festival tent serving East Frisian specialties – from shrimp rolls and Mettwurst to Snirtjebraten.
The municipality of Hage is located in the middle of Brookmerland and Norderland, a region known for its moorlands, historic brick churches, and proximity to the North Sea. The local festival reflects this identity: down-to-earth, warm, and with a close connection to the landscape and its inhabitants. Holidaymakers from the region or nearby islands like Juist and Norderney are also warmly welcomed.
Admission to the local festival is free. Individual attractions for children or concerts may incur small fees. Local clubs provide food and drinks at fair prices from their festival stalls.
The Hage Local Festival 2026 draws from a long tradition of community summer festivals in East Frisia. Local clubs, the fire department, shooting club, and sports clubs, along with caterers and showmen, jointly organize a varied weekend.
