Political Culture Festival at the Beluga Site — Whit Friday May 22, 2026
Gorleben Day — also known as the Cultural Resistance Party — has taken place annually on Whit Friday at the Beluga Site in Gorleben since 2015. In 2026, the festival will once again bring together thousands of visitors from the Wendland region and all of Northern Germany on Friday, May 22, starting at 2 PM for a political culture festival with free music and engaging content.
The Beluga Site is one of the symbols of the Wendland anti-nuclear resistance. Located directly next to the Gorleben exploratory mine, it has been a central meeting point for demonstrations, vigils, and cultural events for decades. The Cultural Resistance Party continues this tradition, transforming the site into a political and musical open-air stage on Whit Friday.
From 2:55 PM to 10:40 PM, the following acts will perform on two stages:
The spectrum ranges from politically motivated indie music and singer-songwriters to punk and drag performances.
Parallel to the music program, the Aktionsdom offers workshops on political topics — from the anti-nuclear movement and climate change to democracy issues. For children, there is Circus Allegro and Puppet Theater. Free admission, donations welcome.
Beluga Site, 29475 Gorleben. Via B 191. By train: Dannenberg station, then shuttle or bicycle.
Free admission. Donations are gratefully accepted.
Gorleben Day falls between the major Wendland Whit festivals (Kulturelle Landpartie, MSNT) and can be easily combined with them.
