The second weekend of the Gimmeldingen Almond Blossom Festival takes place from Friday, March 20th to Sunday, March 22nd, 2026. It is the second and usually the last full festival weekend highlight before the festival finally ends on March 26th. Experienced Palatinate visitors particularly appreciate this second weekend because the almond blossoms often reach their absolute peak during these days, transforming the vineyards on the Haardtrand into a sea of pink blossoms.
The festival mile along Neubergstraße remains unchanged: around thirty serving points from Gimmeldingen vintners offer Palatinate white, rosé, and red wines, as well as regional sparkling wine. Food stalls offer Palatinate classics, from Saumagen to Bratwurst, Quetschekuche, and almond cookies.
The more than two-hundred-year-old tradition of the festival — documented in its current form since 1934 — is meticulously maintained in every detail.
The Almond Blossom Panorama Trail is highly recommended: a well-marked walking path that leads via Haberackerstraße, Fürstenweg, and the Wine Lehrpfad (educational wine trail) to the König-Ludwig-Pavillon. Several viewpoints offer a spectacular view of the pink blooming almond trees against the broad backdrop of the Rhine plain. Gimmeldingen is considered one of the best places in Germany to experience the almond blossoms.
As on the first weekend, the wine village is largely closed to individual traffic. The city of Neustadt relies on free shuttle buses from Neustadt main train station, supplemented by regular public transport connections. Those arriving by train benefit from Neustadt's direct location on the Mannheim–Saarbrücken railway line.

The second weekend of the 2026 Almond Blossom Festival extends from Friday, March 20th to Sunday, March 22nd. The festival continues seamlessly from the first weekend with an identical structure: around thirty serving points from Gimmeldingen vintners on Neubergstraße, continuous serving and food service from late morning to late evening, guided and individual walks through the blooming vineyards.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the organizer in the spring. The structure follows the proven cornerstones of previous years: regular serving on all three days, culinary offerings at the food stalls, often accompanying small live acts in individual courtyards or at the pavilion, and the central attraction of the almond blossoms themselves.

Getting There
Free shuttle buses from Neustadt main train station to Gimmeldingen, travel by DB (German Rail) is ideal. Individual traffic within the wine village is not possible during the festival.

Free admission. Wines and food available directly at the stands.
Tips
The second weekend is often a bit more relaxed than the first — perfect for quieter visits. The almond blossoms usually reach their peak on these days: be sure to plan a walk along the Almond Blossom Panorama Trail.
