Eighth edition of the classic car meeting on the Schlosswiesen and at the Mühlenmuseum
Since its inception, the Gifhorn Oldtimer Mile has become a fixed date in the South Lower Saxony classic car scene. With its 8th edition in 2026, it is one of the established events in the region. The mix of historic cars, trucks, buses, and motorcycles is broad and appeals to a diverse audience.
A special feature of the Gifhorn Oldtimer Mile is its division into two locations: the Schlosswiesen (castle meadows) at Gifhorn Castle and the grounds of the International Mühlenmuseum (Mill Museum). Both locations have a distinct atmosphere – the castle as a historic building, the Mühlenmuseum with its unique mill architecture. The vehicles are presented particularly impressively against these backdrops.
The spectrum of exhibited vehicles ranges from elegant sedans of the 1950s and 1960s to powerful sports cars and historic commercial vehicles – trucks from the post-war economic miracle era, classic buses, old ambulances. In addition, there are motorcycles from various decades: BMW, NSU, Zündapp, Harley-Davidson, Triumph. Those interested in automotive heritage will find a wide selection.
Owners of historic vehicles can register for participation with WiSta Gifhorn GmbH ([email protected]). The number of participants is limited, early registration is recommended. The exhibitors are part of a growing network of the classic car scene in Lower Saxony.
The Oldtimer Mile is not just an event for experts, but a family-friendly offer. Children marvel at the historic vehicles, catering provides for physical well-being, and a supporting program rounds off the day. On the Mühlenmuseum grounds, the mills, the Russian Orthodox wooden church, and the museum exhibition are also accessible.
With its eighth edition, the Oldtimer Mile has firmly established itself in Gifhorn's event calendar. The atmosphere of the Schlosswiesen and the Mühlenmuseum lends a special aura to the exhibited vehicles.
Vehicle owners wishing to participate should register promptly – spaces are limited.
