From January to October, Gera hosts one of the most densely packed public running series in Central Germany with the Geraer Laufcup. The 15 individual races alternate between the Stadtwald (city forest), Hofwiesenpark (court garden park), Leinawald (forest) and the surrounding communities. The seven best results per runner in all age groups are counted. The 32nd edition in 2026 starts in January and ends with the year-end celebration on November 20th.

The 32nd Geraer Laufcup 2026 comprises 15 individual races in Gera and its surroundings – from the kick-off in January to the finale in October. The main routes are Stadtwald, Hofwiesenpark, Leinawald, as well as varied routes in the surrounding communities. The seven best results are counted for all age groups. The year-end celebration takes place on November 20, 2026.

As in previous years, the 2026 Cup offers a program that appeals to both beginners and ambitious hobby athletes. Even though not all dates are fixed in advance, the season highlights are already set.

The Geraer Laufcup has existed since the 1990s and is one of the most densely packed public running series in Germany. The 32nd edition in 2026 continues the proven concept: 15 individual races are spread from January to October across the city of Gera and its surroundings.
