About Gartenzauber

The Gartenzauber Großenaspe is considered one of Northern Germany's most beautiful garden festivals. At Hof Bissenbrook in the Segeberg district, around 140 exhibitors present plants, decorations, garden furniture, and artisanal products related to garden life. The Lindenallee, the old barn, and the expansive meadows are transformed into a stage for plant lovers, hobby gardeners, and families for three days. With live music, acrobatics, and selected gastronomy, the Gartenzauber is more than a market — it's an adventure for the senses.

A Festival for Discerning Gardeners

The Gartenzauber Großenaspe is not just any garden fair, but a curated festival with high aesthetic standards. Around 140 carefully selected exhibitors bring what truly interests German garden enthusiasts — from rare perennials and antique garden decor to contemporary landscape art. The organizer themselves runs an online shop for flower seeds, bulbs, garden supplies, and stationery — their passion for the subject is evident.

The Setting: Hof Bissenbrook

The venue is the traditional Hof Bissenbrook on the outskirts of Großenaspe — a classic Northern German farm with paved paths, expansive meadows, an event barn, and its famous Lindenallee. The old trees form a natural canopy under which the stalls are lined up — hardly any other festival site in Schleswig-Holstein offers a comparable atmosphere for a garden festival.

What You'll Find

  • Plant Selection — Perennials, roses, shrubs, bulbs, exotic specialties
  • Decorations and Garden Furniture — from rustic Northern German to modern-purist
  • Handicrafts — ceramics, metalwork, wood art, textiles
  • Gastronomy — carefully curated, regional specialties alongside Mediterranean offerings
  • Live Music and Acrobatics on various stages

Visitor Information

For safety and hygiene reasons, dogs are not allowed. There are no ATMs on site — you'll find banks in Großenaspe and Boostedt. The main paths are paved, and the event barn is accessible via a steep ramp.

In the Segeberg District, Schleswig-Holstein

Großenaspe is located in the Segeberg district, about 50 km north of Hamburg. The Gartenzauber is part of a double event pairing — in addition to the spring festival in early May, Hof Bissenbrook also organizes the Herbstzauber (Autumn Magic) counterpart in September. Both are among the most visited garden festivals on Schleswig-Holstein's west coast.

Gartenzauber — edition 2026

The 2026 edition of Gartenzauber Großenaspe opens its gates from May 1st to 3rd, daily from 10 AM to 6 PM at Hof Bissenbrook. Over 140 exhibitors will present plants, garden decorations, furniture, and crafts. The program will be accompanied by live music, acrobatic performances, and curated gastronomy. Admission is €10 for adults, and children up to 16 years old are free.

Three Days of Garden Festival

Over the three festival days, Hof Bissenbrook transforms into a showcase for garden enthusiasts. The 140 exhibitors are carefully selected — from perennial nurseries and rose growers to antique dealers and sculpture workshops. Live music accompanies visitors as they stroll through the Lindenallee and across the meadows.
