A Festival in 42 Gardens
The concept is extraordinary: Instead of a central festival site, the entire region becomes the stage. In Delmenhorst and the neighboring municipalities of the Lower Saxony/Bremen Municipal Association, private individuals, associations, palace administrations, and municipalities open their gardens and green spaces for concerts. This creates 42 very different, intimate, and surprising festival moments.
Musical Diversity
The curatorial line is deliberately broad. Chamber music in a palace garden, jazz sets in an urban courtyard garden, folk acts in a farmhouse garden, blues-rock in an industrial garden atmosphere, choral music in a church garden, crossover projects in a contemporary park – the musical spectrum reflects the diversity of the locations.
Concerts for Every Taste
The concerts vary in size and character. Small, almost private courtyard concerts for 50 guests, medium-sized concerts in city parks, larger productions in palace parks and on stately garden estates – the range is remarkable.
Organizers and Partners
The organizer is the Delmenhorst Cultural Office, which organizes the festival in close cooperation with the municipalities of the Lower Saxony/Bremen Municipal Association and the local hosts. The voluntary work of the garden hosts is an essential part of the festival's character.
Program and Tickets
The detailed program will be published at the beginning of July 2026 at gartenkultur-musikfestival.de and on the website of the Delmenhorst Cultural Office. Tickets are usually available per concert and advance booking is recommended, as many concerts sell out quickly.
A Northern German Summer Tradition
The GartenKultur-Musikfestival is one of the most beautiful ways to enjoy music in a relaxed atmosphere in August while discovering the gardens and parks of the region. It is a must-attend event for music lovers, garden enthusiasts, and culture aficionados.
