Civic Festival with Petersmarkt

The Fuchsburgfest is the major civic festival of the town of Vohburg an der Donau, combining a classic town festival program with the traditional Petersmarkt around the patronal feast of Saints Peter and Paul. In 2026, the festival will take place from June 26 to 28. The historic town square in front of the Old Town Hall will become the festival grounds – with a live stage, a legendary beer garden, and a party mile open late into the night.

The Town Square as a Stage

Vohburg's town square is one of the most beautiful public spaces in the region between Ingolstadt and Kelheim: a classic Old Bavarian market square with burgher houses, a fountain, and the striking Old Town Hall as a backdrop. During the Fuchsburgfest, this square transforms into a festival arena – live bands play on the central stage, the beer garden spreads across the square, and the stalls of the Petersmarkt line the edges.

Three Days of Festivities with Staying Power

The festival runs from Friday to Sunday with long opening hours: Friday from 3 PM to 2 AM, Saturday from 9 AM to 2 AM, Sunday from 9 AM to 11 PM. A medical team from the BRK (Bavarian Red Cross) will be on-site all three days, and security personnel will check bags and ensure smooth operations. Families will find their program during the day with the Petersmarkt and a children's area, while live bands and the party mile take over in the evenings.

Despite its manageable size (around 8,500 inhabitants), Vohburg an der Donau, located in the district of Pfaffenhofen a.d.Ilm, has a rich history: a castle, a town wall with gates, and the Danube as a natural lifeline characterize the place. The Fuchsburgfest is one of the most important social events of the year – a weekend when the entire town comes together.
