Season Opener for Showmen

The Frühlingsmarkt Salzgitter-Bad marks the start of the Volksfest season in the northern Harz foothills. Showmen from Northern Germany set up their stalls for four days on the traditional fairground Am Pfingstanger – the same site that hosts the Schützenfest (marksmen's fair), the Pfingstanger Volksfest, and major church events throughout the year.

A highlight for bargain hunters is the Happy Hour on Monday evening: from 7 PM to 9 PM, enjoy two rides for the price of one on most attractions.

A classic spring funfair program awaits visitors on the grounds:

  • Jaguar-Bahn – nostalgic family roller coaster as a main attraction
  • Dodgems by the Voß family – a staple for decades
  • Children's carousels – with horses, cars, fire engines
  • Ferris wheel or swing carousel – depending on the edition
  • Shooting galleries, prize stalls, duck fishing, dart throwing
  • Sweets – cotton candy, candied almonds, chocolate-covered fruit, gingerbread hearts
  • Food stalls – bratwurst, fries, crêpes, lángos, burgers, potato pancakes

Clubs from Salzgitter-Bad use the market for their stalls, schools organize class visits, older residents come in the afternoon, and teenagers in the evening.
