The Frühlingsmarkt Salzgitter-Bad marks the start of the Volksfest season in the northern Harz foothills. Showmen from Northern Germany set up their stalls for four days on the traditional fairground Am Pfingstanger – the same site that hosts the Schützenfest (marksmen's fair), the Pfingstanger Volksfest, and major church events throughout the year.
