Funfairs have been part of Osnabrück's city history for centuries. Today's Frühjahrsjahrmarkt continues the tradition of large North German Volksfeste (public festivals) and, with over 120 rides and showman stalls, is one of the most extensive spring funfairs in all of Lower Saxony. Showman families from all over Germany participate in the market.

Area at Halle Gartlage

The venue is the spacious area at Halle Gartlage between Bohmter Straße and Schlachthofstraße. Here, high-thrill rides, family carousels, roller coasters, water rides, ghost trains, food stalls, and souvenir shops are located side-by-side. The central location and good accessibility via public transport make the site ideal for a large public festival.

Program Highlights

The funfair opens on the first Friday at 3 p.m. There is a fireworks display every Friday during the event, attracting thousands of spectators. Family days with discounted ride prices, themed evenings, and special promotions complement the program. Over the approximately ten days, the funfair develops its own rhythm between busy weekends and quieter weekdays.
